This intuitive work was inspired by the colours of Killarney National Park in Ireland's Southwest.

I began by laying down acrylic colour on raw, unprimed canvas. Then just started layering free-motion machine embroidery on top,  using zigzag stitches. The paint shows through, and the complementary colours give it sparkle and depth. From a distance it looks like a tapestry.
