This short series of works (3 so far), celebrates ancient trees. From my own photographs (I have even more photographs of trees than waves...) I outlined the general shape of each tree on raw canvas, then began using the sewing machine needle as a pencil, drawing and shading.
This work, Yew, was shown at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show Centenary, and appeared on the BBC coverage of the event. It was also displayed in Monaco, south of France, and at a prestigious hotel in Wales.
The work is 54 x 82 cm, with a treble mount and wooden frame.
